Bi-Annual Vaccines and Tests, Fall and Spring

  • Influenza
  • Rhinopneumonitis
  • *Fecal Parasite Egg Counts
  • Coggins Testing, if the state your horse is traveling to requires it be within the last 6 months

*The Fecal Parasite Egg Count is now being recommended by veterinarians nationwide in place of a routine de-worming schedule. We are recommending that you have a fecal sample evaluated twice a year for parasites. If there is no evidence at that time that your horse has parasites, it is unnecessary to use a de-worming product.

If there is evidence of parasites, we can prescribe the de-worming product that is appropriate for your horse and the type of parasites present.

It is also recommended that any horse that has arrived here from out of state or pasture be evaluated. It is more common for those horses to have parasites then our horses stabled here in the desert.
